What do we want to leave behind for mankind?

The motifs of the "Plastic Legacy" campaign are a visual thought experiment on the question: What do we want to leave behind for mankind?


Plastic and its increasingly drastic impact on humans, animals and the environment and our reaction to this problem is one of the most pressing issues of our time and will determine the future of life on our planet. But how can we envision this future today?

What do we want to leave behind for humanity?

A journey through time. The motifs of the "Plastic Legacy" campaign are a visual thought experiment on the question: What do we want to leave behind for mankind? It aims to highlight that we will all be reminded in the near future of what we have left behind today. Our waste.

Is that supposed to be all what we leave behind?

In order to answer the question with as must impact as possible, Philipp und Keuntje  commissioned a series of archaeological digs, where plastic waste and its originators are brought to light. The digs highlight just how long-lasting the impacts of our behaviour are on the environment, whether consciously or not. And they provide viewers with a question to guide them along their journey:
